The first Practice Groups Days event since two years featured an exciting programme in Germany's media and party capital: We started with a champagne reception at BHO Legal's premises on Thursday, followed by an early bird dinner in the famous local brewery houseSchreckenskammer and a subsequent visit to a local cocktail bar with an utterly surprised bartender. We had a delicious mediterranean barbecue and roaring party evening at Heising & Adelmann on Friday and gathered for dinner and dance at KWB, an ancient renovated swimming pool on Saturday - a pool party only without water.
Our Practice Groups met on Friday with individual programmes, and on Friday afternoon there was plenty of free time to explore the city or just relax and have a chat with a Kölsch outside. Also, the IBG held their business meeting and our growing German Desk gathered for an Apéro with an external guest.
As requested by many of you during our brainstorming session in Paris last year, the Saturday presentations were all about social media: In the Plenary Session, we heard a speech by Roland Kloka, a social media specialist who provided us with insights around the digital universe and practical tips on how to use social media for maximum benefits. In the following management sessionRachel Tombs delved deeper into the subject with a workshop on best practices and social media strategies.
The Practice Groups Days were also more sustainable than usual, which was another of your suggestions in Paris. We used a new event app instead of printed programmes that was received extremely well. Also, there were no more plastic bottles or cups in the hotel.
