About

Claire is a commercial solicitor specialising in Property and Private Wealth Management. Claire helps businesses, land owners and developers in the Hull and Humber area to acquire, manage, protect and dispose of their land and business assets.

Experience:

Property issues pervade nearly all the commercial and private wealth management arrangements that Claire advises on. The breadth of legal and business knowledge Claire delivers comes from practical hands on experience of working as a trusted adviser to local owner-managed businesses and the families that run them.

The long term partnership developed with clients helps Claire identify practical solutions and negotiate appropriate terms to achieve business and personal objectives. Claire works with local farmers and handles freehold sales and purchases, farm business tenancies, transfers of single farm payment entitlements, diversification particularly into renewable energy projects including leasing land to wind farm developers, granting easements for pipelines, electricity cables or access roads, leases of shooting rights or fishing rights, wills and succession planning. Claire also works with local builders helping with initial site appraisals, option agreements, obtaining planning permissions, overcoming technical and practical obstacles to development, mortgage finance and security, transactions with pension schemes, acquisition and disposal through freehold sales or the grant of leases and setting up flat management companies.

Claire has been appointed as a Professional Deputy by the Court of Protection and as trustee for a number of clients to help protect children and vulnerable adults in the management of family wealth.
